Sally, who teaches history at a public university in northern California, writes the posts on Shadowcook. As some readers will guess, I’ve never been to cooking school, never cooked as a professional, and don’t even have a highly senstive palate. I claim only to be a good but not great home cook who takes pride in preparing food for myself even though I live contentedly by myself. Occasionally, I share my cooking with friends. I approach recipes like puzzles, but I don’t provide the answers. I aim only to show how I went about solving them for myself. You can reach me at t.venerio@gmail.com.
